1946 premiered at DOC NYC, the nation’s largest documentary festival, on November 12, 2022 and won the Audience Award in the festival. It has since been selected for a long list film festivals at home and abroad, and continues to win awards and recognition along the way. As of December 2023, the film has won 4 Jury Awards, 1 Best of Fest, 2 Changemaker Awards, and 16 Audience Awards.
